Information on Tandem Paragliding Flights

Tandem flights generally take place when the atmospheric conditions are at least somewhat docile. Due to the high mountain environment in Jackson Hole the conditions are simply too rowdy to be flying with a passenger in the middle of the day.  The heating from the sun can cause rapid thermal development, formation of clouds and possibly strong associated winds, which  although possibly good for cross-country flying are more than most passengers are ready for.  There is a saying in paragliding; "It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than to be in the air wishing you were on the ground."  This is particularly true in tandem flying - an extra margin of safety is paramount to success.
